An unconventional holiday season...

Recent Sensations: A Saturday Christmas: ribbons, bows, Chinese food; 17-lb. nephew, dreidels and gelt, Teach yourself Serbo-Croat, Carols and circa-1998 tunes, a comfortable couch, text messages, sweet dreams, chirping birds.
Events: Some Michele-time; catching up with my favorite shoe saleslady; becoming fully rested.
Books: Kandinsky by Ulrike Becks-Malorny, read one night before bed; Dude, Where's My Country? finished yesterday; Battlefield Earth, excerpts read and rightfully mocked.
Being home: same joys, same irritations. Same old heinous computer on the verge of a breakdown, same fights, same duties, same expectations. Same overprotection.
I'm going to be ready for another semester soon.
Yesterday: Playing nurse to Mom (home sick), catching up with Casey (!) and Alia, satisfying Sex and the City addiction.
Today: Steak 'n' Shake with CXers?
